On May 24, 2025, a two-vehicle collision occurred on eastbound US 26 near Irwin, at approximately 2:38 p.m. The crash took place at milepost 386 in Bonneville County.
The accident involved four individuals. One vehicle was driven by a 46-year-old man from Farmington, Utah. The other vehicle was driven by a 44-year-old man, with a 52-year-old female passenger, and a juvenile passenger, all from Idaho Falls.
The first man, traveling in a black 2020 GMC Yukon, was traveling westbound. He began to veer over the center line, and collided head on with the second vehicle, a semi-truck. The driver of the Yukon was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to a local hospital by air ambulance. The three individuals in the semi only sustained minor injuries, and all three wore seatbelts.
We send well wishes to the man in the hospital, and hope he will be able to make a full and speedy recovery.

LIABILTIY FOR ACCIDENTS IN IDAHO
No one who gets into or drives a vehicle wants to be involved in an accident. But unfortunately, car accidents happen. Idaho uses a fault-based system to impose liability on the party most at-fault for the accident. A legal principle called “comparative negligence,” is applied to determine the negligence of all involved parties. If the Plaintiff’s negligence is less than 50%, then she generally can recover damages from the Defendant (or the Defendant’s insurance policy).
Our personal injury attorneys can advise injured persons about their particular case and how Idaho’s legal principles of negligence, causation, and liability apply to it.
