Idaho State Police are conducting a continued investigation into the two- vehicle collision that took place on August 14th<\/sup>, 2025. The accident occurred on Interstate 90, at milepost 5, just after 2:30 a.m. Two vehicles were involved, including a maroon Dodge Caravan, and a semi-truck.<\/p>\n

At the time of the accident, the 62-year-old male driver of the Dodge was traveling east in the westbound lanes. He began to crest the Spokane Street overpass, where he met the second driver. The 55-year-old male driver of the semi, from Pennsylvania, was traveling westbound when he reached the top of the overpass and saw the oncoming Dodge. He swerved to avoid the vehicle, but was unable to avoid the collision. The Dodge struck the trailer holding fuel tanks, and one burst, spilling fuel onto the roadway. The semi turned to the side and came to rest blocking both the east and westbound lanes, before catching fire. The Dodge came to rest roughly 50 yards away.<\/p>\n

The driver of the Dodge received considerable injuries, and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance following the accident. Emergency personnel tended to the minor injuries of the semi driver, as well as his wife and adult son, who were traveling with him.<\/p>\n
