On November 5th<\/sup>, 2024, a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred on I-84 in Jerome County at about 4:53 a.m. at milepost 171. The parties involved included a 33-year-old woman from Twin Falls, Idaho, driving a blue 2006 Honda Pilot, and a 63-year-old man from Virginia, driving a 2022 Volvo semi-truck.<\/p>\n

Just before 4:50 a.m., the woman driving the Honda was travelling westbound in the right lane when she began to experience car troubles. She turned on her hazards and then broke down, still in the right lane. The driver of the semi, who was also travelling westbound in the right lane, failed to stop or swerve and rear-ended the woman. She was still in her car and had her seatbelt on, but she succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The semi then crashed sideways into the jersey barrier. The driver of the semi sustained no major injuries, and he was also wearing a seatbelt.<\/p>\n

This incident is under investigation by the Idaho State Police. The identities of the individuals have not been disclosed.<\/p>\n
