Ballstaedt<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\" align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Idaho\u2019s minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislature.idaho.gov\/idstat\/Title44\/T44CH15SECT44-1502.htm\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"EN\">Idaho Code \u00a7 44-1502<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"EN\">. Idaho has chosen to mirror the federal minimum wage, which is established in the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). 29 U.S.C.S. \u00a7 206(a)(1)(C). Some states have not kept up with the federal minimum wage. For example, the rate under <\/span><\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/law.justia.com\/codes\/wyoming\/2014\/title-27\/chapter-4\/article-2\/section-27-4-202\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"EN\">Wyoming<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"EN\"> statutes governing minimum wage is $5.15 an hour, but federal law trumps any state law with a minimum wage lower than $7.25 an hour, the federal rate. States can choose, however, to increase the minimum wage above the federal rate, and <\/span><\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncsl.org\/research\/labor-and-employment\/state-minimum-wage-chart.aspx\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"EN\">29 states have chosen to do so<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"EN\">. Only a few of these states have rates above $9.00-$10.00 an hour, but some, like California and New York, have enacted laws that will eventually bring the minimum wage up to as high as $15.00 an hour. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\" align=\"LEFT\">Federal law also requires that all employees receive overtime pay after working forty hours a week. Overtime is one and one-half times the regular rate of pay. 29 U.S.C.S. \u00a7 207(a)(1).
