Stated otherwise, when roads are snow covered, even though the posted speed limit may be 45 mph, that does not mean that a driver is operating his vehicle lawfully if he is driving 45 mph. Operators of motor vehicles must adjust their speed in accordance with the weather and road conditions at the time, even if that means traveling well below the posted speed limit.
