Practice Summary: Mr. Aiken's practice emphasizes banking and financial institutions, creditors' rights, secured transactions, loan documentation, and real estate. He has an extensive business law background, having served for over 27 years as house counsel for two Fortune 500 corporations and a major regional bank. He also worked for a public interest law firm in Denver and practiced privately in Boise during the late 1970's. Professional Memberships and Activities: Mr. Aiken is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Idaho, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Before coming to Idaho, he was licensed to practice law in Colorado, Ohio, and Kentucky. He has lectured on various legal topics, including banking law for the Idaho Bankers Association, construction law, antitrust law, and other topics for various employee and student groups. He also served as a member of the ad hoc committee of the Idaho State Bar to review and recommend to the State Legislature Revised Article Nine of the Uniform Commercial Code. Biographical Information: Conrad was born in Greenville, Ohio, on November 3, 1944, and was raised in Southwestern Ohio. He first came to Idaho in 1969 to serve as law clerk for Justice Allan G. Shepherd of the Idaho Supreme Court. He and his wife of 35 years are the parents of two grown children and are active in their local church in Boise. |
